Montague Harbour Marine Park - April 7-11, 2011
This year, the Montague camp-out was earlier than last year. Weather was quite cool, but the warmth of friendships made for a good trip. Montague was, as usual, spectacular in sunshine or rain. The camp hosts: Lea and Gary, were friendly and accommodating in spite of the fact that it is early in the season. The toilet facilities are very clean.
There were some new faces this year and we missed some that could not make it. Lots of 4 legged friends came too. They weren't allowed in the bar to watch the hockey game, although the children were. Go figure.
The raccoons ate well.
Rubbed the bottom of the boat on the oysters when I tried to return to Ward's Marina. Less than two feet of water a few feet from the dock. Had to return to Crescent Beach Marina and left the Port Nut tied up to the dock & retrieved it in the morning. 2' of water at Crescent Beach Marina and this wasn't even a "0" tide! Poor facilities in these parts.
