New Season Underway - Mar 5-6, 2011
The 2011 season began with a seized trailer jack. Luckily, the lever has been invented and it came in handy to lift the trailer and swing the broken jack into the parked position. The fresh water screen was also clogged with algae growth. Otherwise, the boat systems all worked well, the batteries seem adequately charged and I spent two very nice days on the water after a really rigorous winter. It finally seems to be over and these two days were calm and partly sunny.
I was joined on the first day by son Michael who got to savour the treat of a boat ride on a beautiful day punctuated with bacon and eggs eaten aboard the Port Nut.
I slept aboard and the new memory foam added to the stock cushions did a good job of helping get a good night's sleep. It was cold at 0 Celsius.
The second day, wife Rosa joined me for lunch while tied up at the White Rock Pier. A few photos follow:
