Vancouver Harbour Cruise - May 23, 2012
Bobbie with the Port Nut at Vanier Park.
When my colleague of many years won the Harbour Cruise I donated to our retirement association's fundraiser, we were both equally delighted. Bobbie had never been on the water in Vancouver and a cruise around False Creek as well as Vancouver Harbour was a thrill for her. With mostly cloudy skies and the occasional shower, the weather wasn't optimal, but on the other hand we had only light winds to contend with. Bobbie was very impressed by the amount of shipping in this busy harbour. She learned a lot about how everything works as we watched the pilot boat ferrying pilots to the freighters and the tugs preparing to push freighters away from the docks in preparation for getting underway. The float plane dock was busy with constant take-offs and landings as we sat aboard the Port Nut eating lunch. A few photos are included.
